The truth?

Someone I know once said it's more popular to seek the truth than to find it.

Your thoughts?

As someone who - ostensibly - attempts both on a regular basis, I'd definately be inclined to agree. There's a sense of wonder (wanderlust?) in seeking, a feeling of purpose, and excitement, and (as much as we seekers try to aviod admitting it) a certain level of prestige involved.

But what about when you find a truth? Often, it's kind of disappointing; a real "this is it?" sort of reaction. And once you've found it, you can't very well say, "oh wait, that's just something else. The real truth is over here" and then walk away from it. Finding the truth can be tiresome, and disappointing, and can make you feel isolated as all the "seekers" pass you by in search of something that shines a little brighter. All the best "seekers of truth" know that the trick to seeking for the truth is to aviod actually finding it, 'cause then you can't be a seeker any more.

On the other hand, when you find the truth, you have the truth, and that's very, very exciting, because it opens up a whole new world to you....
