I've been meaning to do this for a while.  I dug up this rather entertaining creative essay from English 102.  It's more of a narrative than an essay.  The assigment was to base a fictional narrative on an actual even in my life.

It's got all the ingredients for a worthwhile essay: Jennie, Mr. Charles, dragonflies and the Guilford College lake.

The snow yesterday was discernibly star-shaped. The snowflakes were so big that not only could you see the six points of each flake, but you could see the patterns in the crystal structure. Nintendo's next game console system is codenamed "Revolution." Why? It's supposed to revolutionize gaming. How? Nintendo won't say.
