Bob stood at the bus stop and watched Joe enter the house at the end of the street. Joe was a good guy; they had shared a few laughs on the night shift, but over time Bob had become suspicious of Joe. He never joined in noshing at the food table when it was someone’s birthday and he never had a piece of birthday cake. Who didn’t eat birthday cake?
