I have always said that when a baby is born the world doesn't get any bigger, but when someone you love dies the world gets so much smaller.

Lovely reflection on the prompt, and the very real loss experienced by those of us who are touched by the truly gifted.

I don't know which hurts more, David Bowie or Alan Rickman. I understand the feeling of losing your childhood Idols. This was a reflective write. Thanks for sharing. Peace~~~D

What a lovely, touching sentiment, and a tender tribute to those we've lost. Robin Williams, Leonard Nimoy, David Bowie and Alan Rickman all affected me that way. With Robin Williams, it was such a tragedy, because, really, we have to say, in a way that so many fail to recognize, that he lost his battle with depression the same way that one loses a battle with cancer. He fought valiantly for years, decades, even, contributing his light and wonder the to world while he did, but eventually succumbed. And with Nimoy, when my husband heard the news, he was driving, and just had to pull the car over to the side of the road and unabashedly bawl his eyes out for several minutes before he could continue ( ... )
