In order to maintain the integrity of the printing/silk screening, or to keep the fabric from pilling, or something else altogether? I must admit I'm more of a fan of the less-fuss clothing, but at least we already have a system in place at home for throwing the less rugged stuff in the regular wash in a laundry bag and then hang drying.
I just throw them in with the rest of my clothes ... has not been a problem so far.
There was one time where a shirt came in the mail with a hole in it. I took a picture of the hole and sent it to them, they immediately sent me a new shirt and a code for like $5 off my next purchase.
