It was funny that the island that started the cause of the destruction was back the way it was before everything was destroyed. He imagined most of the worlds were restored; all but the World that Never Was. How was a world that didn't really exist in the first place, a world that never was to be restored?

Sora imagined the crumbled buildings, memories of a group of people that once walked among them and through them; a fringe society that once held some type of bleached out hope of completeness. Only one of the thirteen achieved that goal of completeness; managed to step out of fragmented dreams and hopes to become what he was before. Still…

Sora stared in the mirror, searching for the image of his other half; wanting/needing to ask how Roxas felt about the debris that he left behind, remnants of what was once his dreams as well.

'And you're an idiot, Sora.' Sora frowned and crossed his arms against his chest, not at all disturbed when his reflection didn't mimic the movement. 'Yes, it was a part of my past-hell, it was my real life-but it's gone now and I don't regret the place being gone.'

His expression turned a little sad. 'After all-the people that I cared about …died…long before the place I existed was destroyed.'

There was nothing accusatory in Roxas's tone, but Sora felt guilty all the same and reached out to brush his fingers against the glass, offering what illusionary comfort that was available. Not all debris was of buildings. Even when one didn’t have their own heart, the shared one still felt the pain.

"Roxas…" Sora leaned his forehead against the glass, eyes half shut. "I won't let you be lonely again…"

'I know, Sora…' The caress on his face could only be an illusion. 'And you'll never have to give false smiles.'

Sora sighed softly and let himself relax for the first time in a long time. Roxas understood and with that understanding, he felt a pain inside of him that he didn't know existed heal, just a little.
