Doors open days

spent the past two days working at the doors open days at the obs. Will write more tomorrow but just to say we had 2135 people through the doors over the weekend which is great !! and to post a few videos of some of the stuff we where doing. These where taken on my new phone so they are not great.

Dry ice is so pretty.

I do a demo where by we make and talk about comets. We put about 1 liter of water, some carbon and sand in a plastic bag in a bowl then add about 500ml of crushed dry ice to it to freeze it. The dry ice freezes the water and gets trapped by it creating a steaming "dirty snowball" which hisses fizzles and pops. Its much like a real comet only much smaller :-) Its a really fun cool demo
