It's September. How did that happen?

What a summer. It's almost over, right? I thought I'd get a lot of writing done this summer but I didn't. Not hardly any at all. Instead, I got a lot of crocheting done as I watched a lot of movies. Why, you may ask, did I not do any writing? Because I didn't have a lot of access to the internet ( Read more... )

Welcome back! I also have excruciating slow internet, but I'm glad it wasn't that slow.

Yes, between a slow connection, a laptop that isn't quite up to snuff these days and no good apps for my Kindle, I've all but forgotten that LJ existed!

Do you have a tumblr? LJ is even more dead since you left, everything is on tumblr these days (I'm sneakyhufflepuff over there)

I do have a Tumblr but quit using it about the same time as LJ. All it did was suck time and I could never get it to help me get invested in anything. At least Pinterest gives me ideas for crafts or meals. Tumblr just made me angry at social injustices and jealous of all the TV shows/movies that I couldn't watch. Has it gotten any better?

Psst: You don't need internet to write ... I actually bought a Totally Retro leather-bound journal thingy (way over the top, a steno block would have done) and wrote an ENTIRE STORY longhand on a boat in the middle of a lake while everyone else around me tried to fish. It looked like the scribblings of a paranoid schizophrenic, with circles and arrows and scratches and stuff, but ... it actually turned out kinda nice once I typed it up. :-)

I tried writing in a notebook and I got some done but I find that I need some sort of outward acknowledgement of my crafting and I get that from crochet so my writing gets pushed to the backburner if I'm not around people who are actively reminding me to write. My muse is fickle that way!

A summer without proper internet? How did you survive?!

Yay for all the crocheting, though, that sounds like fun!

Debugging sounds pretty great.
