Roommates

Mar 10, 2012 15:59

I just posted an advertisement for a quiet and professional roommate, wish me luck that I find someone with whom I can be compatible!  It's actually a great deal for the potential roommate---I'll move into the computer room; they can take over entire master bedroom with private bath, and have kitchen and washer/dryer privileges, utilities included

Hon', did you post to your local paper or craigslist or what? I'm just concerned that you don't get a "problem", know what I mean? Is it "safer" to find a potential tenant through a real estate agent, maybe? Just an idea..but..good luck to you with your new roomie. I hope everything turns out well. :) xx

I did post to Craigslist, I know sometimes they have problems with people advertising for some kind of scams or something, also definitely don't want to attract some ax murderer or something! I'm trying to go through emails first, then work up to giving phone number, I'll see if Billy or his sister can be here when I actually show the room. I know it pays to be cautious, though, especially since Holly depends on me to keep her safe.

I'm sorry you're taking a break, I'll miss you. Hope to see you soon. I have to take breaks from some boards sometimes, just to have time to do other things. I am on Facebook though, if you'd like to friend me there, my name is Alicia Daugherty Mills there.

I hope you have a good Sunday. I guess I'll be filling out paperwork for Holly's Special Olympics field day, and then rearranging rooms in case someone wants to see the one advertised. It's not like I have anything important, like Writing, to attend to! Hope to talk to you soon, Jo! Alicia

Hi, hon'..

For someone who had plans to take a break.. ;)

Seriously..I just..I had something I felt I had to do and while here I just got involved, again, but..it's kinda difficult to discuss why the "break" is needed. I have some things to work through and sort out.

And thank you, sweetie. I'll miss you, too..but..I won't be away too long, okay? *hugsss*

..and good..so you see my point about being cautious with a roommate. I didn't want to have to say "ax murderer", so thanks for doing it for me! xD

..and thank you, honey, for the FB invite. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I don't "do" FB. My sisters are on it..and anyone else I know..and I tried it for a week..and it's just too much for me to get involved with between LJ and YT, as well, and not really my "environment"..not that there's anything "wrong" with it. I will say that I had a heck of a time leaving..trying to delete my account. They don't make it easy for you to do that, for some reason. It took me about a month or so before they officially let me go. xD They must ( ... )

HAYHAY. Good luck! Also, just curious, in what area are you looking for a roommate? :B Unless you've already found one, of course, haha.

We're in Monroe North Carolina, Dashall. And I did have an ad posted for awhile, but then my estranged husband and his girlfriend were fighting, and he said to leave that room available because no telling if/when he'd ever need it! God, men can be so frustrating!!! But it's still a thought on the horizon as a way to supplement the little money I have each month on which to raise Holly. Do you know anyone in this area who needs a room? Just let me know! What scares me is that even though she's disabled and won't ever be able to care for herself, the courts don't care and child support still cancels out when she is grown. I think in time I'll go back to school or to work again, so she and I won't be homeless in a few years' time, Yikes!!! And I was so excited to see you've listed your story, I will read it late this afternoon/evening!!! I have some things to take care of today first, then I'll be back to read! :)

Bah, North Carolina. Blargh... I'm in GA, trying to find a room. Actually ... maybe I could move up there. I just need to get away from home if things don't start changing quick. I'm having a lot of family problems (not financially, just ... my mother's very emotionally abusive), and I'm really starting to think about moving out. How much are you renting it out for?

I'm sorry about your estranged husband. That sounds really frustrating ... I hope things turn out better. Also for Holly, you know. Also! Maybe you won't be homeless in a few years because of that book you published, yeah? That's a possibility!

Fuck, I just realized that one of my scholarships at school only work on GA residents. Fuuuuuuck. Good luck, then, Alicia. And hey, you can call me Brigid! :]
