Happy...Day?

Anyway, Happy Satan´s Birthday or Valentine´s Day, however you look at it. Its really the same all over the world and with the exception of last year, my opinion is usually the former (refering to Satan´s Birthday) and I don´t see any prospect of it being romantic ( Read more... )

wow rach, i think that was some of the most cynical stuff i've ever heard from you, hence the mood... i mean, really, Satan's Birthday? Isn't that what Halloween is for?... anyway, i think we quickly forget the pleasures of bachelor(ette)hood and how to be content with what God has given us already. plus, valentines/mothers/fathers day and all the other lame ones (flag day not included ;) ) are all there so hallmark can continue to rip people off, charging them 3 or 4 bucks for a piece of colored paper with words on it. oh wait, that didnt really help prove my optimistic point. screw it. i miss you. i would love to hear from you soon. :) love ya. -BAM

Attention all readers of my Valentine´s Day Post laraquel February 25 2005, 18:59:14 UTC
In case you don´t know me very well, my comments about Valentine´s day were very much a joke. I don´t think that translated very well in my entry from the feedback I´ve recieved. Satan´s Birthday is a running gag name that I made up for Valentine´s day back in High School or before due to the chronic lack of Valentine´s Day romance in my lifetime and the shared bitter sentiments that occur when the whole world seems to celebrate with a significant sweetheart other. I thought it was significantly lighter than my roommate´s comparison to September 11th or the Spanish March 11th of the Atocha train bombing, and she was more serious than kidding! Although I joke around and write dramatic, exaggerated, bitter, cynical and sarcastic entries and remarks about the lack of a significant other in my life, I would hope that people would know me well enough to know that I was joking and that by no means I am not thankful or aware of the other sources of love in my life, nor not perfectly content being single. God has blessed me with a ton ( ... )

Oh Rach-i wish you didn't always hate V-day so much. I sent you something. Did you ever get it? You will always have my heart, baby girl.
