It's a bit difficult to explain. Basically he's a normal human without this object in canon. With the object (it got stolen) he was godmoddey and also the only person able to use it. But it got stolen from him ANYWAY and without it, he can't use any magic or anything :|b He's still the only person able to use it though? AUGH COMPLICATED.

The only one here is Hidan who is... human theoretically but has his immortality and regen and shit which has never been explained. So there's SOMETHING GOING ON and he can ping as non-human, especially since he's an asshole and has no problem with picking fights with others.
