So its official, 2008 has longest freaking semester this time - I have classes till Friday of this coming week. To add insult, we did not get a Spring break like guys did. Must kill Dot.
Hate to break it to you, but it only gets much worse for you in sophmore year. Fall is bad, Spring is ridiculous. Clinics depending on your rotation, you may or may not be able to relax. Come January of Junior year though, you get to slack. You guys are lucky you don't to write a thesis, so all you have to worry about is NAVLE. This current freaking semester that will not end, I don't think I took more than 2 classes at once at any point. Only one was bad (I think it was roughly 50 lectures, but a lot of it was stuff seen before). This Fall, I have no classes in Septemeber at all and am only taking 10 credits (as opposed to the 24 I think you take in Sophmore Spring). You will be out before you know it though.

Congrats on being finished with first year!
I can't believe you start clinics and surgery 2nd year! So you have sophmores, juniors and seniors on rotation? That seems like it would be crowded. But I guess you'll just be that much more prepared than us since we didn't start till 3rd year (and some schools don't start till the very end of 3rd year I think).

And I know I don't go to your school so I don't really have the right to say, but I think it depends on the person somewhat whether 2nd year is worse or not. For some people in my class, they said 2nd year was MUCH harder. I thought it was much better. A large part of that was because I hated anatomy, I hated being down there all the time. And I just liked the material better 2nd year, more interesting.

But even if it is worse, you just can't think about that right now. I am one to talk because I never take this advice, but worrying about it now does NO good. Take some time to relax and enjoy the fruit bats.

well, technically we start clinics "next year" as in 2008 - but we have two semesters of classes first (so technically, when you start on clinics you are called a junior - even though its the summer and not the fall). i think spring semester we take surgery/surgery lab and start spaying/neutering but basically next summer i'll be in clinics. yikes! yeah, trying not to worry about it now. i figure, if i made it through this year there is a decent chance i'll make it through next year too. i hope!
