Nymphs

I've been reading Jennifer Larson's Greek Nymphs over the past few days (oh, thank you Scribd.com and your free pdf downloads!), and there's so much amazing stuff there. I feel like I've been utterly bombarded with information--in a good way, of course. Here are some interesting quotes (I've saved probably hundreds; I have a seperate word doc, in ( Read more... )

Ah yes, one of my favorite books. :) If you're interested, I have some information on nymphs on the Wildivine site here: http://wildivine.org/nymphs.htm
As well as links to a couple PDF's of interesting nymph-related articles including one by Larson, here:

I think I originally added the book to my must-get list from a suggestion on your website, actually. :) (And I must say, your poem 'Limnades' is absolutely incredible, and makes me shiver every time I read it.)

Thanks for the link! I'll definitely nab the PDFs and pour over them when I have a chance!

Thank you... I'll be reading that poem during our Limnad Nymphaia at the end of the month! :)

I need to look into Scribd.com. I'd heard of it before but since I hate reading things on my computer, I never looked into it. Now that i have the Nook, I find it so much easier to read PDFs and other eBooks.

Some of the stuff on Scribd.com is utter rubbish--particularly if you do a general search on there for, say, 'Greek Gods' or 'Aphrodite'--but there are some good things buried amongst it. It also often has both fiction and non-fiction texts on there, which is pretty cool.

Plus - it's free! :)

Question - do you know if the books that are on there are ok to be on there or are they pirated?
