I have given blood a few times before, and you are right after the "mystery" is dissolved it is no big deal.
My mom has a lower iron count too, and has a rarish bloodtype so she is always wanting to donate but it is difficult for her to get the required iron threshold.

I really really iwsh I could give blood.

But I have a bit of a phobia about blood tests. I'm fine with needles and fine with blood, but together they make me go a bit funny. I feel dizzy just writing this. >.<

It's honestly not a huge deal, though if you're phobic, it isn't probably the best thing you could do. :) Though you *do* get given free biscuits and drinks after, hurray!

And honestly, the tiny pinprick to my finger hurt more than the needle in the vein in the crook of my arm. That just itched after, it didn't sting like the pinprick did. :)
