It took me an hour and 3/4s to drive the 12 miles to work today due to the rail strike. I had to be in as it is the last day of handover for my new programme and I have to meet some key stakeholders. Tube drivers are the most ungrateful bastards I've ever seen. Never have I seen a job where you can earn so much money for amount of effort you need to put in. Yeah their hours are loopy, but so are the rest of the people who man the rail network, and driving a tube train has shit on a passenger or freight on the "real" network in terms of responsibility and concentration. I feel your pain and I sympathise.
