"I'm Robin Hood!" "No, you are a video shop boy"

You know what the problem is with the BBC's Robin Hood? Friar Tuck pwns Robin so much. Tuck is everything Robin should be; imposing, posseses presence, commands respect, knows when to be brutal and when to be kind, and has morals that come across as strong rather than patronising. Robin is such a weedy, irritating video shop boy in comparison.

Now I want to watch Robin Hood... and I still wonder why they hardly bring British shows on German TV... Torchwood and Primeval are the only ones I think... not even Dr. Who XD

Robin Hood is okay (about as good as Merlin, which I know you saw some of) but there are better British shows you could be seeing. Doctor Who is the best one - I'm so surprised that hasn't been shown on German TV as it's one of the most popular things here and is popular in Australia and America, I know. I haven't seen Primeval, but I've seen all of Torchwood. The first series of Torchwood isn't good but the second one is much, much better and is worth watching. The other British show I would recommend highly is Life on Mars (there has been a US version of this but it is bad - the UK one is the one to get!). It's about a modern day police detective who has an accident and wakes up in 1973. He's not sure whether he's dead, in a coma or gone back in time. I guess it has many British jokes and slang, but it's a great series.

Good point XD Robin Hood is a highly flawed series, though it does have it's enjoyable bits (Richard Armitage, basically).
