Stateside, those would be considered more detective shows or mysteries than cop shows, just so you know, dahling. ;)

I absolutely ADORE cop shows. Oh my goodness, I've watched them since I was little. My uncle showed me Nash Bridges, I don't know when, I think it was the last time I was over his house or something a while ago- and I loved it.

!!! YES. man, you have such good taste in tv shows, I have to say XD Nash bridges isn't massive over here, so it's the one I've seen least of, but what I have seen I've ADORED~ i don't know what it is about these cop shows, man, I just... LOVE!

As to the comments above, I group them both into the same genre because the spectrum is so broad. xDD;;;
