Thanks - it would be great if others gave this pairing a try! I was frustrated that they hardly ever interacted on the show and that was the inspiration for this fic - glad you liked it! BTW ... cute avatar ... where is that pic from?
Yeah, it's a shame they've had very little interaction in the series. Both Mary and Katee have complained that they wanted more screen time together, but I know Mary's said that the reason they probably haven't had more scenes is that they're always cracking up together during takes.
It's a behind-the-scenes photo from Home. It was up on dark-thoughts a while back, but the site has since been closed down.
I gave you feedback your both of your fics on Survival Instinct, but I've read them again since and thought, why not do so again? They're fab. I like the relationship you're building between Adama and Roslin... seems very in character.
I'm definitly addicted to this 'ship! (I even got LJ!)
Thanks so much for your feedback and comments here - I so appreciate them!
Oh yeah, I'm addicted too! It's funny, when I made the decision that things went farther on NC than was shown in the episode it affected everything about how I wrote A/R.
I was thinking of writing something that fits a bit more with canon the next time ... we'll see :)
It's funny, actually. A/R is probably the first pairing where I like them together romatically, and I also like them as just very dear friends. So, in that sense, canon, non-canon, it's all good.
Do you mind if I friend you? I like your writing (Your first one is my fave!), and you're from Canada... which is neat.
just dropping a comment to say i loved this. starbuck92 recommended it to me, and i thought it was quite awesome. i loved the kara/laura friendship. :)
LOL, fanfic is totally an addiction. I suffer from it gladly ;D.
Loved this story...nice to see a Kara/Laura friendship explored, and your characterizations are great.
Thank you! I was disappointed that nothing was ever explored between Laura and Kara (well, between Laura and ANY female character, really). I think it's a really interesting dynamic, especially considering Kara's issues with her mother.
This was one of the first stories I wrote for BSG (and the first bit of fanfic I'd written in years -- I wrote a few for the X-files). I look back at it, and I can't help but see the problems with it, mostly style and structural changes that I've made along the way, but I enjoyed trying to write something with the feel of an episode.
I'm so happy you enjoyed, and especially that you thought the characters were true. That means a lot.

I'm pretty new to LJ and I'm having fun meeting people!
I agree with you about A/R. I'd certainly like them to get together in the end but I like the subtlety of the relationship as it is now.
The version of SoL here is shorter than the one on SI (just the last scene). I couldn't decide which I liked better :P

I based the Laura/Kara frienship on almost nothing from the show (grrr..), so it's great hear that it worked.
Appreciate the comment - thanks for taking the time :)
