Hey!

Finally, some new fic! I've been working on this little piece for a while. It's my first ever non-A/R fic (no, I'm not abandoning ship) and I'd love to know what you think! Special thanks to tjonesy and innealta for their wonderful beta help

Good! Intense and restrained at the same time. Measured and very effective use of the language.

Excellent opening section. The prison scene is especially beautifully done.

(I hadn't expected to feel so relieved when Baltar died, but I did.)

Thanks!! The fic was built around the prison scenes .. they were hard to write to try to find the right balance of how much to "show". Glad you enjoyed.

This was actually a MakeLauraHappy fic (believe it or not, for the airlock challenge), but it turned out too dark.

Thanks ... it's an MLH fic gone too dark, lol. It was unfortunate that they cut the scene between Laura and Six in the brig on the show ... many of the female characters don't get much time to interact.

I'm beginning to enjoy writing some shorter stuff ... I don't plan on stopping anytime soon :) ... thanks again for your comments!

This is so intense and poignant, and just beautifully written as always. I really enjoyed the dark vulnerability of the relationship you've crafted between Laura and Caprica - deliciously disturbing given the last two paragraphs.

I can't help but wonder as to the possibilities of what this could mean to the two women. My instinct is that Caprica cries because she knows that it's her turn to inflict her special brand of torture. And as for Laura, she's wounded and vulnerable enough to lose objectivity and allow herself to be seduced. *prickles along my spine*

There are a lot of ideas "floating" around in this fic. I felt that the only way Laura/Caprica would work is if Laura was alone and in pain for a long time and was pretty much stripped to her core when Caprica comes to her. The relationship comes out of a desire to comfort which, for Caprica, is from a sexual place (it's who she is).

Is Laura a replacement for Baltar in Caprica's mind? Did the Cylons break Laura? Where does this relationship go now that the roles are somewhat reversed (in so far as Laura being in a position of power now)? What if Adama saw what happened due to routine surveillance on Caprica's cell? These are all things that I'm thinking about :D. This was so much fun to write and I got fantastic beta help.

That's what I kept asking my betas: do you buy it?? And even though they said yes, I still wondered ... I was walking a thin line with this relationship and I thought that less would be more.

I think you've captured something really special here. And I actually believe this interpretation of Laura and Six stripped down and bare -- all their nerves exposed, as it were. Plus, I think your used of language is really beautiful.

My two favorite lines?

Laura’s breathing changes cadence, and Caprica smiles. She was, after all, designed for this.

She leans towards Laura and Laura does not step back.

Okay, I've got to stop myself from fawning over this thing. I'm making myself sick here.

Btw, I just want you to know that this is the only Laura icon that I have. I mean, I've got tons of her with Adama, but none of her alone? Is this bad?

Yeah, I have one of those unpaid accounts that limits the number of icons you can have. For a while, I tried to match them up with some of my fics and then I had a bunch of A/R and one that was more Mary than Laura. It's been remedied ... but now I've gone an snerched that dancing A/R one from you...

Roslin/Zarek?? wait ... the engorged one?? That's hilarious even if I can't seem to get behind that pairing.
