정신 없이 바쁘다!!! Mindlessly busy

Well I will make this short, as I should really be studying but naturally I am on the internet doing other things. So yes I have been so busy these days and not all of my classes have started. It is quite easy not having class until 4pm everyday but starting in 2 weeks, I will have class from 9-1 and from 4-6 not including study time. I don't know ( Read more... )

Thanks for some more thoughts from the land of the morning calm. And thank you for the reminder of the many frustrations of being the foreigner. Your post brought back numerous memories and thoughts, many of which were so similar to my time spent in Japan. May those memories sink in deep, and hopefully not sit until they ferment to some sour brew, but rather sprout, bud and flower to a growing love and appreciation for those of a different culture you will encounter when you return to the US. (For, perhaps I had in the past or still today treated someone like that, whether unintentionally or not.) That is what I keep trying to remind myself, and did when there, so I did not go a hundred percent cynical hatred ( ... )

I think that's a fanastic idea for a book. And you could definitely write it. Is it that they assume you don't know Korean and thus speak freely right in front of you? If so, I can see this happening the other way around. Maybe French people in the States assuming no one around them can speak French and talking about people. Or Italians. Or Germans. Whatever. It works any way. Still, this is backwards from what you are experiencing in Korea. I don't know if I am making any sense. Whatever. I admire how intense you are with your Korean. I wish I was that way with German. Then again, if I were, I would be in Germany right now and not London. When are you home for the summer?
