So, I take the Naval Officer candidacy test (the ASTB) again tomorrow. God, I'm nervous. You can only take it 3 times in your life, so I really don't want to mess this one up. Hopefully some of the physics and algebra I have been reviewing has stuck...

If you guys could just say a prayer (or whatever) for me tomorrow, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Super good luck. What kind of test is it? Is it for a job?

The ASTB! Oh no, does this mean you're signing up for the flying part of the Navy? I.. well, I suppose the flying part would be the best part, if you were already going to sign up ( ... )

The ASTB is given to anyone who wants to qualify for a Naval Commission. The portions of the test that you take reflect what type of position you are aiming for. An individual pursuing a general officer's job (a SWO or Surface Warfare Officer) only takes 1/3 of the test covering English, Math, and Mechanics. Those interested in becoming a Naval Flight Officer or Intelligence Officer (me) take the full test.
