So the new Anthropologie catalog just went up online. It's "road trip" themed, as several other catalogs (in my collection) from previous years have been. This year's take is gross. The pieces lack charm, originality, or shape. The looks are boxy, sloppy, oversized, baggy, and deliberately but unattractively mis-matched. It's really a shame that

I know exactly what you mean. It seems the taste and workmanship of nearly every company has taken a tank over the last two years.
I went to that interview today and walked through the store. Nordstrom doesn't look much different than Kohls. I hate to say it, but it's true. Really frustrating.

I agree. It's all the same cheap junk with different labels and different price tags. J would say, "Same poop, different pile" -- except he wouldn't say "poop" :P I'm not above buying cheap clothes, but when they are cheaply made, expensive, and UGLY, I have a real problem. Guess that explains why I wear sweatshirts and jeans every day (if it's gonna be ugly, it may as well be comfortable)!

Yeah. Matt just told me Paul's wife used to work as a buyer for Antrho AND Forever 21 at the same time. That explains part of it, I guess :o
