So I had issue with drawing out the pattern so I figured... what they hey, lets try and drape it! It's definitely worked out much better and I THINK I got it. It also massively saves me on fabric, so yay! Anywho here are the pics:
I would dearly love some opinions on this as I want to cut it and finish it tonight! So please please PLEASE tell me what you think!! Did I get it right?
Also this way explains exactly WHY those funny tuck/pleat things are in the original (recall those bts shots). Basically there's not much fabric at the back coz it's so low cut, but HEAPS at the front (hence the huge amount of gathering at the neckline), so the tucks are there to help push the gathers and fabric towards the back. Also explains why there isn't that much gather at the back (from shots so far).
Anywho, please lemme know what you think!
[edit]
So I fixed up the front a bit, and made the gathers more evenly spaced. My only problem is that I definitely need more at the back...Working out how to do that now!
[edit V.2]
I think I worked it out. I had intended to sew the back seam closed, so there was not gap at the back like there is at the front. As you can see from the photo of the back, the cincher covers the back 10 cm of the sheer overlay. So what I will do is make it all out of one piece of fabric, and just gather an extra 30cm or so of fabric in at the back. You won't see it and it will add a bit of flare at the back.
