Steampunk Alice

After tidying up my bedroom ready for sewing tomorrow, I did a bit of research and came up with a design that I'm happy with for my Steampunk Alice ensemble! I'm really happy with how I managed to keep the Disney look of the blue dress and pinafore, whilst adding various Victorian and Steampunk elements.

Awesome. I love your idea. I never thought of combining disney with steampunk, but I guess that is what it called thinking outside the box. I cannot wait to see it.

Though, if you are looking for some different steampunk jewelery, you should try etsy. I have picked up quite a few pieces that I one day intend to add to an outfit.

Thanks! :D Actually there was a group of people in the US who did a fairytale steampunk photoshoot a while back, which was pretty cool. Though they weren't based on Disney. The main reason I used Disney for mine is because that's the most well known version of Alice. My favourite Alice is actually from the telemovie they did ages ago, where she wears a blue and yellow dress. It's a great movie!

But my main inspiration was firstly because my Aurora wig is also perfect for Alice (I noticed when I wore it with my cupcake lolita and tied a brown ribbon in it like Alice). I was originally going to do a regular Alice outfit and wear it on Saturday as lolita. But Lolita Alice has been done before by others so I didn't want to redo something already done.

Then I remembered that mandy_maria's costume from our Stemapunk RP even was the March Hare! I chatted with her last night about the idea of me doing a Steampunk Alice to go with her costume. The idea just stuck in my head, and I had to get some sketches down! I'm not sure if she'll be wearing it ( ... )

A white rabbit would be neat. I was thinking of doing a Lolita white rabbit for a fairytale picnic. My ispiration was the fact that I have some brand ear muffs that have bunny ears. But they are black. It might just end up being my halloween costume for the year.
