Continuing on with the unorthodox costume posting, I thought I'd post up my plans for the rest of the year!
August 28th ACG ball
I'm planning to make a bustle ballgown for this, most probably with the above fabric, though I'm still not 100% set on it. For more details, check out my
recent entry about all things bustley and ballgowny. I really need some advice and inspiration, so please comment with your thoughts!!
October... something :P Melbourne Armageddon
- Saturday will be Classic Wonder Woman. I'd like to upgrade the bracers and cloak and finally have my boots fixed (oh and clean them :P). Will also need to purchase a wig.
- Saturday Masquerade is the 'DC Babes' group, for which I'm doing Diana. This is my 'big' costume of the year, as it's deceptively difficult. There's going to be a LOT of technical work going into building the base to make this outfit work for my body. Lots of padding of breasts and cinching of waist! I've already got the fabric for this in my stash (white crepe) but I'll need to buy the accessories, shoes and wig. This is the other reason I want to remake my WW bracers! Oh and did I mention we have THE ENTIRE GROUP?!?! Yup, we have the entire group! :P So excited!
- Sunday I'm still deciding. Not sure if I'll make something new or wear something old. Will depend on how much time I have after making Diana. Possibilities floating around in my head atm: Aurora, Snow White, Rose Tyler and Lady Blackhawk... But we'll see! I'd like to do a group costume, so I'll see what others are up for doing.
Those are the main events for the rest of the year. So, other costumes I'd like to get done as well?
- I'd like to finish my Jedi (undertunic and Robe)
- I'd like to get Ewok Leia done for the Relay for Life (erm Nov? I think)
- I'd like to get Rose Tyler done... FINALLY! (have the fabric & jacket!)
And I think that's about it. If I get any others done, I'll be very happy, but those are the costumes I want to have done to feel good about this year :P As you can see, I'm really trying to use my stash as much as possible! Hooray for being thrifty!
