[Warden Filter- minus Eddie]

My inmate, Jim Profit, should be regarded, from this point on, as a liar and fraud. How much truth he contains inside of his insignificant little body has yet to be determined, but we'll see soon enough. But, for now, please regard anything he tells you as a massive untruth. In addition, I would like to be informed of ( Read more... )

[And sure enough, in thirty minutes, Jim turns up in the fifth floor common room. He's going for smart casual this time. No specific reason to assume that there'll be running, but he doesn't want to be caught off guard.]

[Tyr was lounging in a chair when Jim arrived. He stood up after a moment, pulling out his force lance and extending it as he approached his inmate.]

We're going to learn about honesty today.

[The extension of the force lance sent a very brief tension through Jim, stilling him in his steps. His expression remained mild though, and as he glanced up to his warden, he managed a ghost of a smile.]

Are we? How interesting.

[He held it out to him, parallel to the ground.] Take it. One hand here [he gripped the end] and here. [The other hand went to the other side.]

And just hold it there for a while.

Jim came to me, but...

Unless you think he poses an immediate danger to himself or others with his lies, I have no choice but to keep it confidential. I swore an oath.

I'm sure it was probably a lie. But I have no idea if he poses a danger to himself or others. However, since he is an inmate and I am his warden, I would think that confidentiality would be null.

I'm a psychologist. Confidentiality is null only in cases where it's fully warranted: for example, when the patient poses some kind of danger.

[She WANTS to tell him, though, because Jim preyed on her weaknesses and used her. :C ]

No. On here, you're a warden, just like the rest of it. If you have information that might help me reform my inmate, that is more important than keeping his trust. Especially when, I assure you, he has not earned it.

I assume you're not going to be the one to offer information?

I find information on my inmate rather...lacking. I was hoping you could fill in the holes with whatever you have gathered from him.

I knew no one who worked for the IRS could be a good guy.

I thought I sensed something unusual about him, though I couldn't be for certain.

The Admiral gave me little more than a pamphlet's worth of information regarding my own pet psychopath.

It seems we are supposed to be failures.

I refuse to do so, but still, it would help to be given something.

I can read minds, but it's such a taboo in my culture to force yourself into the thoughts of another it would be approximation of a body cavity search, or worse. It also makes trust difficult to acquire. However, should an immediate emergency arise, I would be willing to offer my services.

[Scoff.] Mind reading?

[Then, on second thought.]

Perhaps.
