2 stars becuase it is a remarkably boring and self-absorbed movie. Taking a goofy bed time story and then stretching it out to 2 hours is a bad idea.

i'd give it 3 for its originality. it was a little boring and there were some cheap scares, but at least the monsters were real and not people from the 70's pretending to be monsters.
