I can't really say I think it is all that weird... the part that makes me sad is I know I'm never going to play him again and I wasn't done with him when we stopped. Some of the best role playing of my life was done with this guy. I loved him. I cried IC a few times with him and I can imagine that a lot of people got into their characters too. On that note since I still care about him I have asked a bunch of people where they think things would have gone were they to have continued, but I never asked one person who would have a huge impact on him: you. We should chat about ST sometime.

Yeah, I have lost some characters I like before (although in D&D its not as bad as they can come back much more easily than White Wolf) it sucks. One of the things I loved the most about Derrick was the interactions he had with the people of the court, he couldn't have been the character he was without a bunch of the players in game acting the way they did. Derrick would have died trying to save Kat, Gwin, Gwain, Devon, Ward, Aislin, Rhonwen, Oz and a few others. He got a chance to prove it to Kat before the end (stupid teleporter library!) and a few others too. Derrick cried when he was being kept from Ward and Kat's funeral =(.
