I'm actually in tears right now.

There's this video of a black man attacking these people on a bus in Korea, and he's cursing at them in both Korean and English and just being a total asshole. From what I've read, the issue started because an old Korean person pointed to the seat and said to the black man "niga," which means "you" in Korean, as in "you sit here." He misunderstood ( Read more... )

So you need to prove to them that it's wrong to judge because you're not like that~

Cheer up <3

Thank you :) I'm a lot calmer now, I don't know, stuff like that really gets to me. I think... because of my skin color, and the fact that I've been really overweight since I was 9 or 10, for as long as I can remember I've been hyper-sensitive about how quick people can be to judge and I'm always afraid of what other people who don't know me might think about me (I can't even tell you how many people who, after I've known them a while, will say something like, "you know, when I first saw you I thought you would be a huuuge bitch," or something like that). But that's goood advice, I'm going to have to keep reminding myself that I should remember to act in a way to show people that I'm not like that :)

I can't stand that. People approach an issue either one-sidely or with an open-mind. The latter, not as common. Some react to whatever startles them first rather than think critically of the overall situation. But you're definitely not alone in this and be assured that not everyone generalizes black people like that. I don't! The more you prove to yourself the more you prove to others. Stand strong because you're definitely not in the wrong (I tried my best not to make that rhyme so that it doesn't come out so corny but to no avail...)!

And by the way...did you write this or is this in tribute to someone? Just to be sure...Either way, I give my support!

I'm sorry, I made a grammatical error and couldn't leave it alone. Thus the deletion of my previous comment...

Oh, it's something I wrote, more or less right after watching that video (which I JUST realized I didn't even post a link to... it's here if you're interested). If it's really repetitive it's cos I kinda just wrote down anything that came into my head and hit post without really editing or re-reading or anything, lol. But yeah... I agree with you, I wish more people would think of a situation as a whole, instead of being so quick to react and make judgments ( ... )

Ah, I see. And I agree, definitely. Hate doesn't solve anything and I'm surprised some people are easily plagued by it!
Oh, you're talking about the Alexandria Wallace video. Yeah, when I first watched it, the first thing I thought was, "Ah...no, she's just stupid." I see where she's coming from but she didn't express it in the best way. Still, I wouldn't know enough to confirm that her complaint was reasonable. But really, people have been posting her clas schedule and phone number on the internet? What comes around goes around but I do agree that that's taking it too far!
Like they say, an eye for an eye and everyone will be blind (that's how it goes, right?).
If it made you smile, that's good enough for me! XD
