I was just hanging out at my house, well, more like moping. Lacey was leaving soon, in fact, I was sorta surprised she hadn't left yet. School had already started, I assumed she would go back to Louisiana and go to school. But here we were in school and she was just...here. I wasn't complaining, that was for certain. I was actually hoping my wish that her parents memory would get wiped and they'd forget that she had to come home had taken effect and now she was staying here. Like, maybe she'd end up going back to school with us. She had friends there and well, she had me. It made perfect sense

I threw my hands up in the air dramatically. "Because I'm a vampire Slayer!" I reminded him, in case he had forgotten it already. I know I took French, but I didn't realize I was speakin' it! "It means I'm super strong, and I heal fast or don't break as easily. I don't know, something." I sighed, exasperatedly. "It also means I'm totally screwed, 'cause they didn't give me superpowers for no reason. I actually have to use them." Ugh. So not fair.

He asked if I'd said vampires, and I just kinda looked at him. A little desperately, but not that desperately. Just... I don't know. How was I supposed to explain myself? Lexi threw me off a banister, and he's more caught on the me stayin' part. Which yeah, okay, I'm glad too. Our relationship doesn't have to be some little summer fling that we say isn't over, but really is over because I'd go back home and he'd stay here and then we'd meet new people, and it'd just be over. And it was way too good to be over. But hello? My best friend threw me over a banister! And I just said vampires

She was upset. Me, I was still sorta stuck on the whole vampires are real thing. That, and the fact that she didn't get hurt when Lexi threw her off the banister. Why would she do that in the first place? And what was a vampire slayer? Well, obviously it was pretty self explanatory but still. I was confused and a little bit lost here.

She started explaining vampires and I just kinda looked at her with my eyes wide and my brows lifted. She was telling me about it like it was just another conversation. Vampires. Real. Wow. That was kinda....cool. I think? But what was even more cool was this slayer thing. I never knew there was such a thing. And apparently my girlfriend was one of them? Raise your hand if you think that's hot? On second thought, don't. She's my girlfriend
