i've always wanted to do that but it always seemed so complicated/expensive/beyond my talents.

yeah..its really expensive. you can save some money by building the screen yourself, but still, for all the necessary supplies and ink it gets up there fast. especially when it comes to what kind of stencil you use. i used a cheap water-clean up stencil, which worked great except that they wash off when you wash off the paint, so you have to do an entire "edition" in one sitting.
