Laika was a stray dog found on the streets of Moscow. She was taken in by the Soviet space program and became the first living thing to enter space. She was a mongrel, but she was well liked by the Soviets and was dubbed affectionate nicknames like, Zhuchka, "Little Bug", and Limonchik, "Little Lemon

Yeah, there are already bands named after her too.

i wouldn't feel bad since having a chocolate bar and cigarettes named after you is pretty much the highest honor you can get.
