Ginny had been sitting in the Room of Requirement for an hour. She knew she needed to do something before curfew set. Not that she didn't care about the risks any more. She was there because she knew this might be able to help. The redhead stared at the golden orb. Her fingers brushed over the metal tentatively. There was so much she could do with it. But it just wasn't meant to be. Not anything major anyway.
It'd been twenty-six days, eleven hours and thirteen minutes since school started and Hogwarts was not what it used to be. It's why she found herself sitting in the Room of Requirement. That and it still lingered of Harry. Her and some of the old members of Dumbledore's Army had been using it as a hideout from the Carrows after classes. And it was exactly three days previously that Ginny had found it.
She was digging through old parchments and going through old desks when something caught her eye. Light touched the metal in such a way that it glinted. She knew immediately what it was and put it back. It's possibilities were limitless. But even Ginny knew that she couldn't. Even if it meant seeing Harry again, or changing the night her brother became a werewolf - the night Dumbledore died. What happened had already happened.
But she sat there on a half broken desk, her thumb lightly edging over the Time Turner. A younger year was Crucioed earlier that day since they were considered a blood traitor. Just like she was. If Ginny could use the Time Turner just to get the younger boy out of the way of Crabbe and Goyle in time, then that's all that mattered.
After all this was a gift. She was going to use it.
Placing the necklace around her, her fingers began to twist it. It went around once. Twice. Three times was enough. And she started to watch time rewind itself.
But it didn't stop.
The youngest Weasley tried getting it to stop, but it didn't. She shook it several times to no avail. If anything, time sped up. This was not good. She only knew that days and years were passing when the clutter slowly started to push back. But the hardest part was watching herself with Harry months before. And there was nothing she could do. She wasn't even there and it was but a blip on the action of the room.
Slowly years peeled back. Ginny didn't know how long it took for her to get to where she was when it stopped, but she knew it wasn't supposed to be like this. Finally the room stopped moving, or at least things inside the room stopped disappearing and people stopped walking in backwards. This was not good. She mentally cursed. At least she was still in Hogwarts.
Her eyes were wide as she took the first step -- after she took off the blasted Time Turner. She had half a mind to throw it against the wall, but that would not help matters. She needed to get it to someone -- Dumbledore. Dumbledore always knew what to do.
She exited the Room of Requirement with a plan. Albus Dumbledore.
