lastredwitch Canon: Magic Kaitou
Point in Canon: Current as of v.4 of MK.
Age: 17.
Birthday: November 12th, do not make me give you a year.
Appearance: Longish, dark redpurple hair, a disgustingly curvy build for an allegedly Japanese girl, with reddish brown eyes. Generally seen in the school uniform of Ekoda High, or something that should be illegal for a minor to wear with lots of snake decorations. In other words,
this. Abilities:A Red Witch-- which basically means she's all those terribly seductive witches from Penthouse magazine stories rolled into one (except she couldn't care less about you). Most people think she's exceptionally beautiful and fall in love with her, albeit the artificial love that a fair few can conquer. She's good at things that fall into the Voo Doo category, from dolls to curses and potions, and she frequently delves into the territory of more traditional magic such as scrying, having demonic servants, riding a broom and talking to Lucifer, whom she calls her friend. Crying can disrupt many spells, leading Akako to attempt to control her emotions inasmuch as any seventeen year old can ever control their emotions.
Personality: Akako, first and foremost, is an extremely overpowered... teenager. This means that as a seventeen year old, she is less concerned with responsible uses of magic and ethical debates and much more concerned with popularity and being loved, whether or not she loves in return. She desires for everyone to love her, and those that don't, she is determined to make them fall in line. Unluckily for Kaito Kuroba, he is the one man that falls in the way. When things don't go her way, she can be brutal, attempting to mindwash Kaito, and at one point, even kill him.
Despite the fact that she seems to act as though she hates Kaito, when push comes to shove, she can't stomach the thought of killing him or letting Kid be caught by the police, going to long lengths to rescue him so that he can continue being a phantom thief. While it would be a stretch to say that she loves him in any sort of healthy way, she is genuinely fond of him, and slowly recognizing that.
Akako can be extremely determined to the point of singlemindedness. She approaches problems from various angles, but rarely are they any sort of compromise. She tends to barrel through things with brute force in the shape of her magic, and when her magic fails her, she tends to be lost in the water, unsure of how to progress from there. It's a large weakness that she is not terribly good at surviving without her magic to fall back on.
Slowly but surely throughout canon, Akako is slowly maturing, going from a naive and selfish red witch to a more mature young woman who is beginning to understand love. It would be silly to think that she has any sort of concept of selflessness or true generosity, but she is learning the value of things and the importance of both friendship and real love, actively being pushed towards both by Kaito Kuroba and Aoko Nakamori, the latter of which frequently calls Akako-chan her friend.
Akako is quiet and strikes when it's least expect, her calm voice doing nothing to betray the fact that inside she is a loud storm of rage and passion for various things. She is good at not allowing others to see the emotions inside of her, letting them out only in private and around her demonic servants.
History: Akako Koizumi is the last red witch, and she's a teenager-- so, according to her whims, enabled by her powers, she moved and transferred into Ekoda High School. She quickly gathered a group of fans-- and by "group" we mean "almost the entire highschool". The girls idolized her and the boys all wanted to date her, to the extent that she received large amounts of chocolate on Valentine's Day. Kaito, an eternal chocolate seeker, asked her for chocolate, but quickly dismissed her when she gave him the caveat of "only if you throw away your other chocolates". Rebuffed, Akako realized that he must be the Kaitou Kid, the only one capable of resisting her charms. As such, she set out to make him fall in love with her, believing that all men should be her slaves.
Ensnaring Kaito involved quite a bit of magic, but he eventually wound up in front of here, and she attempted to make him fall in love. He resisted to his best efforts, outwitting her when nature turned to his side: the falling snow ruined her sacred circle, thus ending the control spell. Akako was offended that someone who used such fake magic could outwit her, but had a small change of heart when she was complimented genuinely by Kid.
Despite her mild change for the better, she didn't give up on enslaving Kaito to be her lover: when they were all on a school trip to ski in the mountains, she placed a heart sticker on his coat to get him to fall in love with her. She thought she succeeded, but was thwarted when Kaito switched places with another classmate, ending the ski trip by successfully winning a skiing contest with his partner Aoko. Despite her failure, she just grew to like Kaito even more from that, perhaps proving that the chase is better than the catch (even when the catch is very attractive.)
One day, Akako has a brilliant plan: if Kid is the only person who stands in the way of all males loving her, then she'll just kill Kid! She puts Inspector Nakamori under a spell to kill him, after consulting with Lucifer, and then attempts to kill Kid herself as well, wielding a giant scythe. She faltered at the last minute, however, objecting to Kid saying that she valued life too much to kill him. Thwarted by her balance, she started to fall from the top of the tower they'd conveniently been having their battle on, and was saved by Kid, in the end deciding not to kill him.
Akako acts as though she is angry at Kid frequently, but when push comes to shove and she saw him being arrested by Saguru in the future, she first tried to convince Kaito not to do the heist. Predictably, this failed, Kuroba's stubborness proving that it knew no bounds, and when push came to shove, Akako dressed up in Kid's outfit, finishing the heist for him so that he wouldn't get arrested, thus proving her fondness for him.
First Person Sample: [Akako had been meditating, like a dutiful witch. Had been. When she opened her eyes, she expected to see the familiar furnishings of her room, and was instead greeted with a completely unfamiliar setting.]
... what the-- [baffled by the sudden, magical seeming change, Akako stood up, smoothing her outfit out and looking around to see who the culprit might be. Hm, sudden magical seeming shift of scenary...]
Kuroba Kaito, if this is somehow your fault, I will exact revenge. [when there was no response, Akako hesitated for a second, before deciding to explore-- if this wasn't Kaito's doing, then what was it?]
Third Person Sample: There were a lot of things Akako knew for certain in her life. She knew she was the last red witch around. She knew that she was loved by almost all of the men around her. She knew that somehow, someway, this was entirely Kid's fault. It didn't matter if he was here or not, or if he'd done it intentionally or not. It was still his fault, by sheer virtue of him being Kid and resistant to her charms. At this point, just about everything that went wrong was somehow his fault.
This in mind, Akako set about categorizing exactly how much trouble Kaito would be in when she found him. The sudden setting change was irritating, but minor in the scale of things; the fact that she didn't know how the setting change was more irritating, but par for the course when dealing with the Kaitou Kid's brand of magic. Honestly, most of this was an irritant-- if it was quickly explained.
The blackberry she'd found on her pillow was thwarting her slightly; technology had never been her strong point. She fiddled with it for a moment before finally sighing, giving it up as a lost cause-- she'd have Nakamori-san show her how it worked in a discreet way that didn't let on that she didn't actually know how to use it properly.
Assuming that Nakamori-san and Kuroba were both here, that was. She ventured out of the room, unsure for the first time, face betraying little of her emotions as she moved outside.
