A trap
Who: The Rani Ushas and Selene
What: Ushas attempts to incapacitate (not kill) Selene and steal a bunch of stuff.
Where: A lab space in the hellhole known as the infirmary.
When: The day after this exchange
Warnings: Nastiness from the engineered virus.
Normally the trashing of the infirmary would have bent Ushas seriously out of shape, but she considered it serendipitous this time; it gave her an excuse to spend that much longer at work. Under Selene's watchful gaze, it was true-but after a few harmless tests of her guardian's acuity, Ushas was fairly certain that Selene wouldn't understand the true purpose of the RNA sequence she'd developed until, of course, it was much too late.
She added a little more nutrient to the isolation dish and slipped it under the microscope. Excellent; the virii were filling the dish and ready for release. Now ... how to get Selene within reach?
She pushed her chair back from the bench. "Warden Selene?" she called.
