She's doing her best to be chipper.] So! I've got all of these lights that aren't going to hang themselves.. If you want, I'd really like some help. [Buffy smiles at Anders, leading him into her living room where there's a tree and boxes of outdoor decorations.] Or, not. Y'know.

It was nice, having company this time of year. Didn't mean he wasn't going to be a smartass, though]
I suppose I could be troubled. I have this sneaking suspicion if I left you alone I'd find you tangled in a knot of blinking lights.

[Buffy side-eyes him and starts to guide him to her closet, where multiple boxes of Christmas lights and decorations are stored.] And I'm really gonna try to beat out the Hoffman's this year with decorations. Who else can I count on to have my back?

[He follows, and totally does not sneak a longing gaze. Not even a little bit]

Hi, Buffy. [He steps back to let her in.] Er, do you want to come upstairs? My mum's on a bit of a baking thing right now.
[There are sounds of industry and internet-borne BBC radio coming from the kitchen door. Best to leave Hunith to her own devices when she's in a domestic mood.]

I brought cookies. And you get first try. [She says like it's a giant honor, following him into his house with a slight bounce in her step.]

I'm...looking forward to it. Just go on up to my room and I'll bring up some coffee, yeah?
[This will probably end up taking longer than anticipated because the second he goes into the kitchen his mother will recruit him for something or other, but his room is spotlessly tidy - unimaginably so by the standards of a teenage boy. Everything he might conceivably be ashamed of is out of sight.]

Today they both happen to be out at the same time. She briefly glares over at his house while setting up some Reindeer on her roof. But there's a proud smirk on her face. Because she thinks she's gonna win this silent war of Christmas Spirit.]

Something secret. Something he's been working on for days.]
[calling over] those are some nice reindeer.

Thanks. [She calls back.] Your lights look extra-sparkly. [Condescending compliment!]
