Alright kiddies, the Admiral’s had enough of you and your ways. Starting on Monday, the Barge is going to be doing something mysterious that no one but the Admiral gets to know about. But you all get to suffer for it.
At the beginning, it will seem like nothing is wrong. Then the basic functions on the barge will slowly come to a halt. The first thing to go will be the lights. They will flicker for a while and then, all of a sudden, go completely off. As soon as they do that, all rooms will revert back to normal. This means that they will all look vacant and very standard. No fancy weapons. No futuristic technology. Nothing.
After that, it’s all a matter of timing. The perishables (meat and dairy products) in the kitchen will go bad within hours , and the blood will clot and be unusable in days. The infirmary will have limited supplies. The CES will shut down and be nothing but an empty room. And there will be no more Death Toll. That’s right, death is death (at least until the power returns).
The only technology that will work are the communicators and the locks on the doors to Zero. The only light will come from on deck, during the daytime. And the food? Well, since the Admiral is going to be silent on how long this little outage will be, it’s up to everyone to decide how to dole that out.
Of course there are exceptions. Whatever your character is carrying on them when the lights go out is what they can keep. This means that if your warden carries a weapon with them ON A REGULAR BASIS, then they can keep it. Or if they have a cookie in their pocket, they can keep that, too. Be creative, but reasonable, with this.
POWERS WILL REMAIN AT THE SAME LEVEL THEY WERE BEFORE THE BARGE SHUTS DOWN.
Now for a bit of summing up:
1. On Monday, the event will begin after a mod announcement. The Barge will slowly stop moving through space and the lights will flicker for a few hours before going completely off. When this happens, the Death Toll will no longer be in effect.
2. As soon as the lights are off, the rooms will revert to their default state.
3. After that, the citizens of the Barge are on their own as far as food and maniacal inmates go. Warden items will still be connected to inmates, but again, they only will tell when an inmate is hurt.
4. It’s up to the people of the Barge to figure out a way to survive until everything is working again.
A note on the rooms- they are going to be simple, wooden rooms. No furniture, but with a porthole on one wall.
On another note, since sorting are going to start the day of this event, we are putting up a poll to see if you’d like us to do pairings a day early (tomorrow, the 14th) in order to get things situated before the plot actually happens.
