So, your first act as leader would be to force people to learn another language and speak it, then you know, afford a couple of rights or whatever, then you would go and waste the taxpayer's money by building grandiose architecture and gardens, and then change the song to a song that you wrote? Meh? No offense mike, but ya kinda suck as the leader of Ireland. Clearly they will overthrow you and perhaps eat you as to harness your power...

They're not learning another language. They're learning their own which was ripped out of their culture by the British crown. Irish is on the verge of dying. It's a common European system for preserving a native language. For instance, in France, children don't learn English till about 4th or 5th grade.

And it's not a couple of laws. Those are some rather hefty laws. We don't even have that here in the US.
