She was the blazing sun.
A star that was so close and bright that it could mask all the other stars in the sky. One look and you could be both blinded and bound to that bright, bright smile of hers. Even as you look away, you could feel her warmth seeping into your skin, bathing you in her positive energy and endless charm.
She was the calm moon.
Even if nobody was there to see it, she would continue to shine silently, sharing her light with whoever needed or appreciated it. She was alluring, captivating, and breath-taking. Many have tried to capture her, tie her down to the ground, but what they will ever get is her reflection in the waters, playfully grinning up at them. You can never, ever bring her down.
She was an artist, expressing herself in ink, in sound, in movements. There were people who looked up to her as their role model. People who admired her, cherished her, and marvelled at her.
She loved, and was loved. She is loved.
It wasn’t easy for her to leave. Tears were spilled, words were said, and hearts were cracked, broken, shattered. No one saw it coming. It was all too sudden, too much to handle. People were blamed. Anger started to rise. Conflict started to evolve.
But in the wake of much negativity, slowly came acceptance. Well wishes were said, promises were made and a new determination was formed. Just like how the sun will always shine after a storm. Just like how a full moon will always form every lunar cycle.
Every ending is a new beginning. It was her new beginning. She will be supported through her new journey, and she’ll do them proud. They’ll do her proud too. One day they will meet and laugh together again, like family.
I believe that. I believe in her, in all of them.
I love you, forever and always, Rebekah Kim. I love you, After School.
