That is so ridiculously awesome. JEALOUS. What was the paper on, anyway?
Doing projects like that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be an academic, of course, but being a published scholar does make it easier to get jobs. Or so I hear.

it's about public transportation in the middle east. actually, it's arguing against the notion that mass transit is "placeless" using the middle east as a case study. if you want to read it, i'll send it to you. but it's REALLY boring if you're not interested in public transportation...
