Origins: The United States. Yeah it's not actually from China. It's either from Chef Peng Chang-kuei, T. T. Wang, or Chef Peng Jia who apparently all invented General Tso's Chicken first and was copied. Most Chinese dishes served in the US are modified for US consumption so I'm not entirely surprised.

I enjoy General Tso's chicken lots, although I like orange chicken better(for the simple fact that I dislike spicy things also)

But General Tso's is delish too.

I've eaten it on occasion but I usually pass for the reason you go for it, not spicy enough. :p

General Tso sauce seems to be an east coast thing. I've heard about people trying to find it in CA & not being able to.

But I figure it's easier to find thai food over there so I'd probably get over it.

HA! looking at this gif again on my f-list, it is obviously a chicken and not a seagull as previously commented. DOH.

I don't think we get this in the UK :-( (the sauce, not the french chicken in a hat... we get loads of them).

tbh, i didn't even realize some grocery stores carry it until long after I found it in a Warehouse store.

There ARE recipes for just making the sauce but... I'm not a good cook so I wouldn't be able to confirm whether or not they're easy or taste good.
