I would really like to join but I looked over their sorting community and there were so many Squibs, I backed out of it. I like my self-esteem where it is. ;)

Try! I honestly didn't think I was going to be sorted either. It'd be nice to have a fellow member whom I know before getting into the community :)

Admittedly, the amount of Squibs was particularly high lately, but generally more members get accepted rather than Squibbed. I don't know you, but we love to see new people apply. Just be sure to have a thorough and articulate application.
