Mmm, cheesesteaks

As a Philly transplant, I feel that I must throw in my two cents regarding cheesesteaks. First- Pat's vs. Geno's. OK. Pat's is way greasy, and the chunks of steak in Geno's steaks are larger. But Pat's has cheese fries to die for, the kind so soaked in heart attack-y goodness, that it necessitates eating with a fork. However, the best cheesesteaks by far are at Jim's on 4th and South. Sacrilege, I know, but they get it right. Also, Alexander's in Manayunk, especially on a Saturday morning when you're getting sick and starving and it's just starting to get cold outside. But yes, Jim's overall, Geno's if you're down in South Philly.

Okay, sorry, but I didn't mention this... we tried Jim's too. I wasn't as impressed. I didn't like the toasted bread. Jim's was actually at the bottom of our list. (Don't hurt me! This must just be one of those places where we disagree... like the whole Dean vs. Logan thing. *cough*LOGAN*cough*)
And we didn't try the heart-attack inducing fries. I think 1.5 cheesesteaks in the middle of the night was bad enough;)
