Help...

I have an essay due tomorrow and it's about religion.  I can answer the first question but the second one stumps me like noneother:

"Buddhism asserts that "desire causes pain." Do you agree? How might Jesus have responded to this central tenet of Buddhism?"

Could anyone please help me with this?

I would say that Christ's life was not about inaction as buddhism teaches. His life was about righteous action and about relieving the ails of those around him. He taught that men should love one another. He healed the sick and raised Lazurus from the dead. Some would argue that his actions angered the Pharases and Sadduccess who sought for and got his death and would point out the suffering in the Garden of Gethsename. While in one of the hours of greatest suffering and pain he relieved the conscious of the thief, instructed the apostles to take care of his mother and asked God himself to forgive those who crucified him.

I would probably point out how he changed the heart of Saul on the road to Damascus.

I would stick to the Bible unless you happen to go to an LDS school. Then and only then would I use the
Book of Mormon and there is a boatload there that would booster the arguement of righteous action over inaction by Christ himself.
