I'm asking that cause I'am from Belarus, and it sound's to me like a belarusian one. :)

It is, indeed, my surname. I believe it comes from either Germany or Czechoslovakia, but nobody in my family is certain. It may also be Polish. Then again, since Belarus is just to the east of Poland, I am sure it's possible we come from there.

How awesome is it that a Belarusian livejournal user found me by my last name on here?! I love this thing we call the internet.
