zines

Does anyone here know anything about Latvian zines? My Latvian is unfortunately horrible but searching in English turns up virtually nothing useful (plus I'm not sure how 'zine' translates). I'd love to find pen pals and people to trade zines with in Latvia (I'm in Halifax, Canada) and maybe make some friends to hang out with when I go to Latvia

i don't know of any actual latvian zines, so i'm not so much help. but, i think the latvian word for zine is "zinas" based on http://www.torontozinas.com/ (but with that accent mark under the n). good luck!

yeah, this is why Google searches are totally ineffecient. I was hoping your knowledge of Latvian counterculture might come in handy here

I don't have much knowledge of Latvian counterculture, alas... I know it exists, but I don't have much exposure to it save for things I see on draugiem.lv, and I can't find anything on there regarding zines or self-publishing.
