There's an eerie beauty in a place which is usually bustling and busy when it is quiet and still. I've always loved that sense of peace, even though it seems a little sad as well.

I often went to my high school in the summer, once everyone had gone home. I would just sit and think. The peacefulness was all-encompassing, and I would always be put in a very nostalgic mood, thinking about the year that had passed, what had been enjoyed and now lost. However, I also left happy, thinking about all the great things the next year would bring.

Anyway, enjoy your break!

P.S. I love that last line!

Indeed. I always feel privileged when I get to experience that quiet. So few people do, simply because they're the ones who are gone.

Thank you! And yourself as well.

P.S., I do too. I'm not sure how well it flows with the last paragraph, but it was sort of the basis for the entire entry, so I had to put it somewhere, and it seemed like a good thought to end on.

And you say you're not a musician. Yeesh.

Did I relate to you my experience on coming back to campus a day early from Thanksgiving break? The place was literally deserted - I saw no one. That time it was just plain creepy.

I can't create music. I love listening to it, and I understand basic concepts (such as cacophony and euphony - thank you, 90/90 terms...), but I can't make it myself. Poetry can be musical-ish, but it's not really the same.

No, you never did tell me about that. Weird.
