Summary: The road to hell...
Shuuhei is aware that he is being used. He’s no fool, and he can feel it in the way Kira clings to him, taste it in the emptiness of their kisses. They lie in a welter of discarded clothes, tangled together in a mess of need and lust and desperation.
Kira looks at him with desolate eyes as blue as the skies in summer.
Kira bites Shuuhei's bottom lip hard and he tightens his grip in his friend’s blonde hair. Kira’s long legs are around his waist, Kira’s naked body sliding against his.
‘Please,’ Kira whispers.
So Shuuhei takes him hard, takes him roughly, pushes his over the edge with pain. He takes him as he does every time, and just like every other time he promises himself that the next night it will be different. Promises himself that soon, soon, he will be able to show Kira that it doesn’t have to hurt to feel good. That pleasure does not always come with penance.
He makes that promise every night, and every night he knows that next time Kira will look at him and beg, sweeping away all his best intentions.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
No, he thinks, as Kira bites his shoulder hard enough to bruise. No. This road to hell is paved with silver, and lined with row after row of dying marigolds, the gold all bleeding to blue.
