[Fanfiction] - Shuuhei/Kensei - Syntax and Semantics

Ok, I am ficcing at quite a rapid rate. And I'm just writing whatever pairings come to mind. Be afraid. Be terrified, in fact, because there is more where this came from. Maybe even something with multiple chapters.

I... really like this :-)

The pace is really good, not too flat or descriptive, and the use of repetitive words is just enough to give it something interesting!

It is a hard pairing to write (I've only attempted a couple, including one I'm stuck on atm!) but you got a lot of feeling out in it - I loved the first section as well, comparing each of the shinigami and the difference types of want/need/desire. Very cool!

Thankyou! :) They are hard to write - there were parts where I felt like it was coming naturally, and then other parts that I really struggled with. Maybe it's because there isn't really a huge amount of actual canon time devoted to either of them, so there's a lot you can do with the characters.

This is the exact reason why I find them hard to write because there's been no real interaction so it's down to a lot of guesswork and assumption - which makes the writing even harder!

I'm not giving up yet!

(Also also - I <3 you for writing VK fic - I have tried and really do fail in that area, it makes me sad :-( *lol*)

It really does. They're also very interesting, but quite nondescript in a lot of ways. I mean, it's not as if Shuuhei has a particular manner of speaking which you can work with or anything, he's a bit of an enigma.

Don't give up! Both of them need more fic love!

Well from my view, a happy amateur who's written Shuuhei way way OOC, there is no OOC in this piece whatsoever. To me they're all spot on and this little piece is amazing. I adore it. :)

I love the way you present the sometimes subtle differences between love and lust and adoration and all those other things but what I love most is how you with so very few words describe the heat between Shuuhei and Kensei that one drunken night.

Kensei ordering Shuuhei to remove his gloves with his teeth? One of the hottest things I've ever read. I had to bite back an irl groan. :D

*coughs* What was I saying? I think I was about to say thankyou very much! :) Everyone's been very reassruing about my characterisation, which is lovely because it was worrying me a bit.

LOL, I'm glad someone else found that bit hot. xD I had to take a moment when writing it to take some deep breaths, because I have a bit of a thing for gloves and yeah...the mental image nearly melted mah brain.

OOC my ass, this was awesome! I loved the way it all locked together -- Shuuhei's definitions of both his own and his friends' feelings toward their present and former captains hit the bull's eye every time, as did (especially) his description of Kensei; I loved/adored/worshiped that (and I agree with figaro_figaro above -- the glove thing? Hotness squared. I could smell the leather as I read it). I really wouldn't worry if I were you -- I think you've got a fantastic feel for both these guys, and. . .well, everyone else, too. *grins*

Oh, and bonus points for the reference to Kira's bad poetry, fufufu~ XD;
