I did love Byakuya closing down, and even if it's wrong of me, Renji being hurt.
Particularly loved this exchange in the bar:

A hand descended on his back, almost sending him nose first into the bar.

‘Kensei,’ Shuuhei said reprovingly.

‘Yes, Kensei.’ Yumi trilled, ‘be gentle. Our Renji’s all pitiful and lovelorn. Save the rough stuff for Shuu, he likes it.’

Shuuhei spluttered into his drink

me=total Kensei/Shuuhei fan (even if it's inferred).

I love that we got to see Renji's POV too, and cannot wait for the next installment in this story!

Yeah, I thought that the whole time I was writing. He can't just make-out with the smexy yoga instructor, he has to bring in the angst and the bitchiness and the Kuchiki-ness. Ah well. I wouldn't love him as much if he wasn't such a prissy pain in the ass sometimes. :p

xD I hope so. I've started part 3, and Kensei and Shuu both feature heavily. Though I'm not sure if they're actually in a relationship at this point...if they aren't, they probably will be by the time I finish writing this. :p

I loved it! Excellent, excellent. For some reason Byakuya walking out shirtless to his car made this chapter for me, because I can see him doing that, in such a scornful, "what the fuck are YOU looking at?" sort of way that people start feeling vaguely guilty for having clothes on.

D'aww, Renji. ♥ But he's stubborn and strong and he has, apparently, good friends - and I loved that part too, reading the interplay between them all. Shuuhei here is wonderful.

Reading your stuff always makes me want to go write!

I wrote Byakuya walking out shirtless totally by accident, it didn't occur to me he'd be half naked until I suddenly thought 'wait, he left his singlet inside', but then it just seemed like such a Byakuya thing to do that I left it. It just worked in my had, so I'm glad it worked in yours too. Plus, uh, half naked Byakuya? Yes please. :p /shallow

Thanks, I suspect I'm not going to be able to resist giving Shuuhei a bit more page time, just because I love him. Plus I like to toy with all the random characters. Though butterflygirl_3 did point out that Kira may not be manly enough to be drinking beer. :p

I have looked forward to this fic like crazy, seriously! And I don't do much reading-of-fic these days (since time only generally allows for reading OR writing, hardly ever both), so that proves how awesome it is. And on a re-read, I am falling even more in love with your Renji. I love that you manage to mix this almost-predatory sexuality, all this intense Renji-ness, with this awkwardness and hurt. Oh yay. Ah Renji. Writing Renji freaks me out a bit, because I know a lot of people who read my fic love him to bits, and I don't want to screw him up. :p Then again, I could say the same for Byakuya, so maybe it's just general characterisation that freaks me out.

I wish there were happy accidents like Shirtless Byakuya in RL. :p I'm 5000 words into part 3, and the cameos are quicky turning from cameos into...siginficant and important parts of the story.
